I've considered Lasik, and I'm still on the fence.
I first got glasses in the fifth grade. My vision declined over time until I'm nearly blind as a bat without them. I've also had cataract surgery and retinal repair in one eye.
Complicating the question, over the last couple of years my vision is sharpening and improving, and the eyeglass prescriptions are becoming weaker, not stronger. My doctor tells me this is not unusual in middle age. I believe that painting constantly is visual exercise, like weight lifting, but that's just my opinion.
The corneal procedures like radial keratotomy and Lasik have been performed millions of times safely, but I want to see the fifty-year longitudinal studies before I get it done. Since I may not live that long, it's maybe moot.
