Dianne, I am not sure if you realize how privileged you are to have such models and the time to realistically represent what you see. My constant reminder and struggle is to correctly see the values for the values must relate to each other realistically if they don't my painting does not look as it should. Another problem I have and I see many make the same mistake and that is in rushing to finish. It is my understanding that if I lay down correct statements of value while relating hue I will be closer to the finish than by blindly rushing to get to the finish. I look to the work of Cassatt, Sargent and alike for examples. We are representing light as it is in light and light as it is in shadow. Rush not to prove to the world that you can do it rather slow down and be a student of the master.
