No, not that the text is different, but that it's in English - I assumed that since you were buying the French edition the text would be in French.

Of course, you're a proper European and can speak more than one language, I'm a classic ignorant Brit and have enough trouble getting my own language right

I do know how to ask where the bathroom is in Italian though, so I guess I'm a cut above the average Brit...

Hehe - you'll have seen all my stupid mistakes then. I should stress that I'm figuring it out as I go, and I'm not convinced I'm doing it right yet.

All the same, I will say I've found the value for eye training to be second to none, even when I do it wrong.

Thanks for the link. The main difference between the method they describe and the way I've been doing it is that they are measuring directly on the paper - I'm doing it sight size, taking my measurements with the pumb line standing well back from the easel. It's harder that way I think, but that's kind of the point.

I'm waiting for Mischa to chime in - I gather he's actually had some atelier training at this.
