Thank you Beth for the post. I had heard about Marvin's accomplishments but did not know with what portrait he won. WOW!

In hope that Marvin gets the message I send him my congratulations. I am a big fan. I visited his workshop, slide show and lecture in Greensboro and took his workshop in Atlanta. Marvin is very knowledgable in art history, techniques and, quite obviously, very talented. Combined with that he speaks and teaches truths and not style. Every one of my paintings carries a little bit of Marvin in it.

Garth took the words right out of my mouth and I'd like to add that this piece does a fantastic job of creating depth.
