Thank you for advice. After going over the chapter in the book I was referring to (
"Capturing the Magic of Children in Your Paintings" by Jessica Zemsky), I see she treats the mediums almost the same as watercolors: utilizing thin washes of oil paints that have been thinned with turpentine. I knew there had to be a reason why this is not a good idea for commissions. Thanks.
