Actually, Mischa, I like the boy's head the way it is, because he appears to be telling a secret to his father, and the father seems to be listening. That's what I like about this composition. The feeling of the father, concentrating on his son and also focused inward, and the way the two are together but with a slight tension in the boy's body keeping him from collapsing into his father's arms, are what make this powerful rather than corny. So in my humble opinion, don't change the gesture or the boy's face! You've got something there, so don't lose it!
