Not at all Jesse. I think this is a good reminder that we all should consider ourselves as perpetual students and beginners.
What you doing, painting from life is very difficult. Very few artists today are willing and able to do this.
You have a very creditable painting and I applaud you and your teacher for limiting the palette, an important first step in figurative work. All too often we rush in full blast with all colors flying, unable to control the results.
