I know what you mean about feeling a need to have a portrait sample of every representative type (girls, boys, groups, men, women etc.) I have also never had a woman's portrait on my site, and I know I need one there. I'm waiting 'til I have a woman's portrait I'm really proud of though, before I put one on the website.
I've always heard it was better to have three great samples in a portfolio than twenty of uneven quality. My strategy has been to have 10 -to 12 of my best portraits on my site and delete the weakest one as soon as I have a new one I want to add.
