Boy, finding a good photo to paint from in the photo album is tough. I personally would not paint from this. Lack of detail and if it's the girl you are interested in - as you said the goat is missing, at least part of it.
Keep trying Matthew, try taking your own with light from a window perhaps. Read the threads here on photography. It's an eye opener. There is some great info. here.
