Your picture is very charming.
The Sargent picture you mention reminds me of the impact this Venice street scene had on me when I first saw it at the National Gallery in Washington. The picture is rather small but has more drama than some of the huge canvases hanging just across the hall. You feel the chill this woman has, either from the sharp wind blowing off the canals or the vulgar remarks the two guys are making about her, or both. Her gesture is so familiar. You can almost smell the street.
