Wedding Portrait
1 Attachment(s)
This wedding portrait, done in 92, was a gift to one of my brothers and his wife. This 18"x24" portrait on Strathmore bristal board, took approximately 90 hours to complete. I used a combination of pencil and graphite powder in this project, using the eraser to create a lot of the wedding dress and veil instead of the pencil. I feel that I did not achieve accuracy and realism in the faces of the two subjects...what do you think???

Could you post a larger detail of the faces? I hesitate to comment until I can see them better. Thanks.

Perhaps you can send a picture of the original photograph, from which you created this drawing. I wonder what the direction is you are heading, what you want to do with your style of drawing. It's very labourous, the way you make a drawing. Perhaps that's the reason that when someone smiles it gets a bit 'frozen'. Maybe if you try to loosen up a little bit in the way that you draw, that you can get more of the atmosphere of a spontaneous expression on someone's face.

WOW! Very nice! The flowers are amazing! But I agree about the faces, maybe a bit more detail there? My focus goes directly to the bouquet of flowers. Beautiful!
